Unleash Her Travelling Spirit ... Longchamp Fall/Winter 2019-20 Collection
Despite its Parisian origins, the 70-year old malletier and fashion maison Longchamp flew all the way to the Big Apple to present its Fall/Winter 2019-20 ready-to-wear and accessories collection.
On a runway inspired by the works of French design doyenne, the late Andrée Putman, Creative Director Sophie Delafontaine sent out 40 exquisite looks, inspired by women travellers with liberated rock and roll attitude.
Giving their nods of approval from the front row seats were the current
face of Longchamp, model Kendall Jener and supermodel Kate Moss, who were seen
all dressed up in Lonchamp ready-to-wear pieces from the Fall/Winter 2019
collection.
Juxtaposing the distinctive auras of two fashionable cities – New York
and Paris – Delafontaine juxtaposed the elements together to create a
collection that speaks the best of both worlds.
Mix and match was the order of
the day where different textures are matched with various silhouettes and
patterns, injecting individuality and dynamism in every look.
Willowy silk dresses and pleated skirts in embroidered tulle or wool
gauze represents the always feminine side of Parisian women. Au contraire to
the Parisian legendary insouciance, Delafontaine paired crisp black leather
tops with architectural coats doused in graphic or Apaloosa prints to bring out
the cutting-edge New York vibrations.
Making its debut appearance at the show is the LGP print, Longchamp’s
latest signature print. Inspired by the Bauhaus art movement and New York’s
maze-like grid plan, the LGP print became a leitmotif on pieces such as jackets
and separates.
It also present on Longchamp’s new handbag collection, La
Voyageuse. Fashioned after the vanity case, La Voyageuse expresses feminine
charm and a perfect travelling companion for women travellers who are looking
forward to their new adventures.
For the upcoming Fall/Winter 2019 collection, the bags are come in a
diverse palette of colours and fabrics such as crocodile-printed leather,
leopard print calf hair and smooth leather that is embossed with LGP logo.
To
beat the chilly winds of autumn and to keep those dainty, manicured toes warm
in Parisian winter, boots in multiple styles complement the looks.
Look forward
to thigh-high platform boots and ankle boots embellished with patchworks and
crafted in python-printed leather. If you fancy pushing the envelope, flirty
yet edgy black biker boots will do the job well.
Longchamp Fall/Winter 2019-20 ready-to-wear and accessories collection
will be available at Longchamp stores and selected multi-brand retailers
worldwide starting from the third quarter of the year.
