Florence Welch Rocks Gucci Jewellery Campaign

With fiery auburn tresses and alabaster skin, without a doubt, British singer Florence Welch is indeed, the modernised version of Mary Magdalene a notable biblical figure whose allegorical beauty is commemorated in Renaissance art.

What’s more, had she lived in the period, she could have been the girl whom Sandro Botticelli painted as the Greco-Roman goddess of love in “The Birth of Venus”.

Apart from fronting her band Florence and the Machines, Welch is also known throughout the fashion sphere for her unique style. Her brand of bohemian chic, which is not too shabby and not too eccentric, has received plenty of praises from fashion editors.

Furthermore, her relationship with venerated Florentine fashion maison Gucci has never been a secret. Case in point: At a show in London last year, she wore an airy Gucci dress, custom designed for her by Creative Director Alessandro Michele.

According to Vogue Paris, she loved the dress so much she had it made in two different colours – pale orange and mossy green!

This season, Welch and Gucci has taken their relationship to a greater height as the singer stars in Gucci jewellery advertising campaign. Shot by photographer Colin Dodgson with art direction by Cristopher Simmonds, the new campaign brings forth the spirit of freewheeling, carefree travel and a playful bohemian period to accentuate the aesthetics of the jewellery designs.

Against the setting of wooden wagon overfilled colourful furnishing and trinkets, Welch reclines sensually on the bed of cushions and decorative fabrics. She also was photographed sitting outside dreamily, peering at the viewer.

Complementing Welch’s signature bohemian look for the shoot are rings, bracelets and necklaces from the Gucci jewellery collections such as Le Marché de Merveilles, Gucci Ouroboros, Gucci Flora and Gucci Dionysius fine jewellery alongside its silver jewellery collection.

The evocative advertising campaign is set to break into major fashion publications and periodicals soon.
