Icon of Class: Scott Eastwood

These days, Scott Eastwood’s name is perching high on top of every man’s best friend want-to-be lists. What is with Eastwood that everybody wants to be buddies with him? Is it because he’s the son of the legendary actor Clint Eastwood? No, I beg to differ.

While most Tinseltown-born kids tend to cling to their famous surnames for instant validation, Scott carved his path to fame and fortune in a different way: He worked two jobs when he was a struggling actor at 18 and had to go for auditions just to get a role in his father’s directed films!

“I auditioned for American Sniper and didn’t get a role,” he recalls during an interview with UK’s Independent back in 2015. “But it was actually perfect because it was around the time this film was gearing up so it was maybe a better thing. I would have loved to have been part of American Sniper but then I wouldn’t have the opportunity to do this film.”

Nevertheless, even if he was not Clint Eastwood’s son, his easy-going nature, his love for the sea and the sun – a true blue Californian boy – as well as his sense of humour are enough to win more than plenty of friends. 

Add in his passion for adventures, that sun-kissed athletic physique, and the ability to wakeboard while guzzling cold beer straight from the bottle, rest assured every man wants to be like him ― if they can’t be around him. In a way, he is the epitome of masculine cool for the 21^st century.

Apart from gracing the billboards and magazine pages with his cool blue gaze in Davidoff Cool Water advertisements and the main star of BMW’s “Business Athlete” campaign, fans of the 31-year old actor can look forward to his appearance in Pacific Rim as Nate Lambert alongside English actor John Boyega from Star Wars: The Force Awakens in cinemas next year.

Albeit we might be on the long waitlist for Scott Eastwood’s buddies-to-be, for the time being, let us channel his Californian Boy persona and relaxed masculine charm with these hot picks of the season!
