New Blooms for Gucci Icon Jewellery Collection

Gucci’s relationship with floral motifs began way back to the middle of the swinging 60s, when the house created a floral print scarf for Hollywood silver screen siren and Monegasque royalty Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco.

Everybody knows it well: when an iconic piece of accessory – the Gucci floral print scarf – is worn by an icon of prestigious stature (in this case, Grace Kelly herself), it certainly triggered a wave of emulation by fashionistas around the world.

In the later years, Gucci floral print has been venerated and celebrated in multitude of forms, from dreamy day dresses in printed chiffon to legendary horse bit loafers that were part of its 60^th anniversary collection. The icon is also reinterpreted into a scent starting with the birth of Gucci Bloom not too long ago. Today, the inspiring blooms that reminds one of an eternal summer splendour across a field of spring blossoms is reincarnated once again as part of Gucci Icon jewellery collection.

Juxtaposing intricate craftsmanship with the use of warm gold and Italian enamelling techniques, the Gucci Icon collection drew its inspiration from the Renaissance era, a period that has greatly inspired its new aesthetics. Featuring delicately crafted blossom-themed pieces, the collection is divided into several ensembles. 

The first ensemble – an open-cuff bangle, a delicate necklace and a ring – features decorative Icon flowers and leaf design, further accented with blue and white enamelling and set against blue-black enamel background. Beading and curlicues create a graceful trim along the ring and bangle.

On the other hand, two other ensembles – a pendant necklace and two matching earrings – are available in either yellow or white gold with white enamel. The yellow gold necklace professes urban look with its extra-long chain whilst two other necklaces, available in yellow or pink gold and enamelled in white can be worn stand alone.

Delicate leaf and flower motifs aside, every piece is intricately adorned with the recognisable ‘GG’ motif by the master goldsmith and in a whole, the collection oozes the aura of timeless craftsmanship and profound savvy.
