The Shades of Conscience ... Karlie Kloss x Warby Parker Collection

Within the span of several years, model Karlie Kloss has expanded her CV to somewhat of a great proportion: She graced the Victoria’s Secret runway as one of the VS Angels; appeared on the cover of the magazines and fashion ad campaigns; collaborated with Momofuku Milk Bar to create Karlie Kookies; and now, she’s taking role of a designer.

This summer, Karlie wants you to amplify your summer style with her latest collaboration collection with American optical goods label Warby Parker.

Available at Warby Parker outlets and its online store since 10 June, the collection is made of three distinctive silhouettes namely Clara, Julia, and Marple.

These three sunglasses are graceful, polished and imbued with personality. Furthermore, working hand-in-hand, Kloss imparted her genuine warmth and go-get-‘em energy to a trio of distinctly feminine classics, thus making these sunglasses versatile and absolutely flattering.

“Collaborating with Warby Parker on this capsule collection was an amazing experience. I’ve always admired their commitment to social enterprise and am so excited that our partnership is supporting Edible Schoolyard NYC’s inspiring work,” Karlie says of her latest collaboration.

Constructed from ultra-strong and lightweight titanium in Heirloom Silver and Heirloom Gold, the frames feature gradient lenses, available in several mesmerising shades such as Violet Clover, Sepia Wash, faded Slate, Copper Fade, and Indigo Wash.

On the other hand, special accents were added to bring forth the unique character of the sunglasses.

For example, Clara boasts resized lenses while Clara is accented with wires to inject contemporary mood. In a way, the Clara, Julia and Marple are the epitomes of relaxed summer elegance.

To celebrate the partnership, Warby Parker is donating to an organisation that is dear to Karlie, called the Edible Schoolyard.

The organisation provides low-income public schools with kitchens and gardens, and students, through a hands-on curriculum led by Edible Schoolyard staff, learn the tools to develop lifelong healthy habits.

The donation will benefit two community farm stands in Brooklyn and East Harlem, where kids learn about food preparation in their own neighbourhoods.

And for every pair sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need, which is aligned with Warby Parker’s ethos that everyone has the right to see.

“We’ve been looking forward to working with Karlie, and not just because we’ve been friends for awhile. Her enthusiasm, great taste, and giving spirit make her a natural collaborator for Warby Parker,” co-CEO and co-founder Neil Blumenthal says.

The Karlie Kloss x Warby Parker collection is available now at Warby Parker stores and online. The frames are retailed at $145.00 each.
