A Musical Soiree ... Montblanc introduces Patron of Art Henry E. Steinway 2014 Collection

Like a tradition, purveyor of luxury timepiece and writing instruments Montblanc pays homage to the heroes of the artistic world, ranging from renowned writers to musicians.

This year, Henry. E. Steinway, the man who invented the legendary Steinway baby grand piano has been given the honour to be immortalised in the form of Montblanc’s Patron of Art writing instruments for 2014 edition.

Known as the man who revolutionised the world of music through his lifetime dedication to the advancement of arts, the Henry E. Steinway Patron of Art collection encompasses two limited edition instruments – 4810 and 888.

Issued in a limited number of 4,810 pieces, the 4810 fountain pen  mimics the striking black and gold color combination that is one of the hallmarks of a classic Steinway Grand Piano with its black lacquered barrel and gold plated fittings.

The gold-plated cap refers to the overstrung piano developed by Steinway.

The writing instrument features a Steinway & Sons engraving on the cone ring along with a 750 solid gold nib with an engraving of Steinway's portrait.

Additionally, the stunning Limited Edition 888 takes the piano motif one step further, with its solid body crafted to resemble the delicate keys of a piano.

The cap of this fountain pen is made of 18k solid gold and bears a filigree portrait of Steinway on its nib.

To celebrate the launch of the new edition of Patron of Art collection,  Montblanc has partnered with Bentley Music and Citibank, holding an intimate soiree at its Pavilion boutique.

With a bona fide Steinway grand baby piano as the centrepiece, the event started with a warm welcome address by Ms. Grace Lim, Montblanc Malaysia General Manager, followed by an introduction on Steinway & Sons grand piano presented by Mr. Lewis Hooper, Business Development Director of Bentley Music Group

Following suit, Mr. Andreas Boesch, Montblanc South East Asia Managing Director, unveiled the Montblanc Patron of Art 2014 Edition: Henry E. Steinway writing instruments to the guests.

Apart from delving into the art of writing by experiencing the pleasure of using a fountain pen, award-winning Steinway pianist Celestine Yoong entertained the guests with Mozart Sonata in D major (K576) 1st movement & Chopin Fantasia Impromptu Op 66 and Ravel – ‘Le Tombeau de Couperin’ I-Prelude & Chopin Ballade No 3.

The Montblanc Patron of Art Henry E. Steinway limited edition fountain pens retailed at RM8,900.00 (48190) and RM31,200.00 (888); available at Pavilion and Suria KLCC boutiques.
