Trend-Plate: A Tranquil Life in Kemaman

An idyllic seaside town that serves as the gateway to the state of Terengganu, Kemaman – approximately 45-minute drive away from Pahang capital, Kuantan - basks in its nonchalant stillness.

In the main town, modern shophouses mingle with pre-war Straits Eclectic shops while the air is punctuated by aromatic and spicy wafts derived from the array of local spices and gastronomic fares such as nasi dagang and satar (a triangle-shaped dumpling made from fresh fish paste, chillies and grated coconut, grilled to perfection) and salty sea breeze that blows across the South China Sea horizon.

Journey up north and along the way, you will discover a long stretch of sandy coastline and secluded bays that border the crystalline waters of the South China Sea.

Spend a night or two at one of many traditional homestays where you can savour the local laidback lifestyle while embracing the legendary warmth and friendliness of the local people.

Nevertheless, if the idea of embarking on a road trip to the East Coast seemed impossible due to your hectic schedule, add these inspiring pieces into your wardrobe and let the colourful spirit of this realm of tranquility embrace your style.
