Icon of Class: Nick Waterhouse

If you are into good ol’ rock n’ roll and twist, then Nick Waterhouse should fit the description.

Counting renowned musicians such as Bert Berns, Mose Allison, Van Morrison and John Lee Hooker as his musical influences, Waterhouse combines the sounds of R&B, jazz and soul with snarly, post-surf guitar solo to create a unique sound that he could call his own.

Instead of releasing his LP on CD format, Waterhouse chose to release his recorded materials in the form of lacquered hand-pressed vinyl – a true novelty that befits his music – under his own label Pres.

Music too influences Waterhouse’s style. At a glance, his look would remind you of the late Buddy Holly with his tortoiseshell glasses, skinny tie, slim-fit suit and button down shirt. His personal style was also documented by Mr Porter and can be viewed here.

With a style worth emulating, I've compiled some of the current runway-worthy pieces that you could use to get that Mr Waterhouse look with a little twist. Check it out!
