Sweet Like Furla Candy ... The Candy Brissima Tour Arrives in Kuala Lumpur

Furla Candy range to the adults is like what real candies are to the children ― alluring, sweet and certainly tempting ― but with a slight difference: the latter are edible while the former is not.

Currently deemed as a highly coveted range from the Italian bag maker, Candy is characterised by the unconventional and spontaneous spirit that it possess; emerging from the crossing of tradition and experimentation.

Debuted in 2011, Furla Candy has risen towards a new level of stardom due to its ability to capture and reflect women’s desire for contemporary, colourful designs and personality.

Crafted in various permutations of colours, materials and textures, the Boston-shaped Candy bag is the epitome of continuous and energetic creativity.

It is an instant object of desire that inspires new and vibrant synergies within the artistic realm, hence making it a sublime must have accessory to accompany today’s vibrant lifestyle.

After taking major cities around the world by storm, the Candy Brissima Tour finally landed on our fair shores.

Known as Furla’s initiative in expressing the brand’s desire to constantly experiment with new solutions and new forms of artistic expression, the Candy Brissima tour has been held in many major cities around the world, starting from Milan to Istanbul, followed by Tokyo, New York, Milan, Hong Kong and Singapore, just to list a few.

For the Kuala Lumpur round, the tour made Pavilion KL its stopover venue.

The concourse floor of the shopping mall, which is flanked by Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Dome cafes, was transformed into a minimalist exhibition space with multi-tiered display shelves housing the iconic Candy bags in many colours imaginable.

A small stage was also set up as a Furla artistic lab and adorned with various fabrics and decorative materials.

Guests who made the beeline on the registration desk were all dressed up to their nine, except yours truly who preferred to keep it simple for that evening, donning a knit short-sleeved top from Topman, a pair of Burberry Steadman jeans, Mulberry plaited leather belt and a pair of Lacoste 1928 Natsos sneakers just to match the belt.

Very important guests who were present at the event were His Excellency Mario Samartino, the Italian ambassador to Malaysia and Signore Alessandro Bartoli, CEO of Furla in the Asia Pacific region.

Model cum DJ Patricia K warmed up the evening as she welcomed guests to the event amidst lush servings of canapes and rounds of drinks.

Following suit were speeches by the VIPs and the live art performance by celebrities such as Anzalna, Diana Danielle and Zee Avi who were chosen to display their artistic talent on stage.

To assist them were students from the Limkokwing University who were all dressed in white lab coats. The artistes were given a duration of time to decorate their Candy bags according to their personal style.

As the performance ended, the emcee asked the artistes what their bags represent and various answers were given.

For instance, Anzalna professed her love for everything that spells glitter while Diana confessed that she use her bags to keep food - a statement is similarly echoed by Patricia K. Later, the artistes posed with their one-off creations to the members of the media and photographers.

Since the night was still young, guests revel in cool melange of music spun by the DJ of the evening and continued marvelling and taking selfies while toting the coveted bags on display.

Apart from the customised pieces by local celebrities, Furla also has embarked on a special collaboration with Wei-Ling Gallery where 12 local talents were chosen to customise the bags according to their unique interpretations. The bags are currently on display near the main entrance of Pavilion KL.

Furla Candy Bag range is available now at Furla stores at Pavilion KL and Bangsar Village II.
