Gotta Have Them All! ... Peter Pilotto for Target Spring 2014
The winter chill is still lingering in most parts of the
northern hemisphere, but that doesn’t stop die-hard fashionistas – Peter Pilotto
fans to be specific – to stomp into the nearest Target stores and stock on the
label’s collaboration collection with Target.
Following the immense success of previous designer
collaboration collections with major names in the fashion world such as
Missoni, Jovovich Hawk, Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu to list a few, the news of the
new creative partnership between the visionary London-based designer and Target was met
with tremendous response from the fashion editors, bloggers and fans alike.
“Peter and Christopher [de Vos] have a rare talent for
capturing the essence and energy of London
in a way that’s completely universal in its appeal,” said Trish Adams, senior
vice president of apparel and accessories, Target.
“This collaboration allows
our guests to brighten their look at truly remarkable prices this spring. By
working with NET-A-PORTER.COM to make the collection available internationally,
we’re able to introduce Target’s democratic approach to design to a new audience,” Adams adds.
Embracing both new and classic perspectives on elegance,
while leveraging on Pilotto’s expertise in textiles and prints, the capsule
collection of women’s ready-to-wear, accessories and swimwear exemplifies the
designer’s aesthetic that is imbued in plethora of hyper-real digital prints
juxtaposing contrasting tones of striking blues and greens with the warmth of
reds and oranges.
“Our brand is about print, yes, but it’s also about the
emotional feeling you can get from colour and its combinations,” says the
designer who recently bagged Best Emerging Talent Award and the Women’s
Swarovski Award for New Potential High-Level Garments at the British Fashion
Awards.
As early as January, fans have been seeing sneak-peaks of
the Pilotto’s collection in Target ad spreads in fashion magazines across the United States and Canada. An Italian actress was even
spotted wearing one of his Target-exclusive creations in the January issue of
US Vogue.
In the past, fashionistas may have to jet set their way to
the US
to stock on Target’s exclusive designer collections.
However, flying your way to the US or Canada may be a thing of the past as Target has embarked on a partnership with leading luxury online retailer NET-A-PORTER.com, hence enabling Peter Pilotto fans from all corners of the world to own curated pieces from this limited edition collection.
