La Boheme Journey ... Etro SS2014

Paisleys, when speckled on easy-wearing or relaxed silhouettes, would likely create a holiday mood to its wearer; inviting her to leave the reality of life behind and embark on a journey to the exotic lands and faraway territories, uncharted by the ancient cartographers. 

Perhaps, that is the kind of message that Veronica Etro would like to deliver to the fans of Etro. 

Imbued with allusions to the timeless Bohemian style, the combination of sheen-surfaced materials such as golden lamé, plethora of timeless prints (floral and paisley) and easy-going styles resulted a collection that drives a strong desire to be whisked away to somewhere enchanted and, as I had mentioned earlier, uncharted. 

The shapes, which do not cling to the contours of the wearer’s body, allow the body to move liberally. The beautiful and soft folds and creases enhance the beauty and the luxuriousness of the materials, especially on the inspiring belted knee-length lamé dress with plunging neckline. 

Thin leather belts, which are omnipresent in the collection, are added in to slenderise the figures. What’s more, the comforting, non-conforming shapes can also be worn by women with full figured body. Classic printed scarves styled as cowls go well with the fluttery silhouettes. 

Apart from holiday-inducing pieces such as the halter-necked dresses, sheer printed chiffon skirts and knee-length one-shouldered dress, those who’d like to bring a piece of holiday mood along to work could bring forth the mood in the forms of floral print wrap dress or a paisley print jump suit with V-neckline – a fantastic twist and a fresh breath of air to your atypical working style.   

High-heeled strappy sandals with gilded touches are the order of the day in the footwear department. As for accessories, delicious accoutrements such as handbags in soft, organic shapes with long thin straps, thin clutches, a slouchy handbag, and leather belts with meticulously detailed buckles complement the spring/summer looks.
