Follow Your Daydreams ... Lanvin Resort 2014 Collection

Goddesses, princesses, rock divas ― who needs that fictional fairy godmother on fashion speed dial when Alber Elbaz of Lanvin is capable of these fantasies through his spectacular prêt-a-porter collection?

Breaking away from atypical vacation-induced collection mould, Lanvin’s Resort 2014 collection sports Elbaz’s aesthetics that somehow have become synonymous with the storied maison – lavish drapes, inviting working palette, meticulous detailing and opulent accessories.

In a way, the collection can be summed as an open invitation for women, regardless of who they are, to heed the calls of their daydreams.

Rich tulle layers forming a ballerina-worthy gown with silky sateen sash around the waist, panelled dress in deep red, belted long one-shouldered dress with wavy tiered ruffles along the neckline, canary and paisley print sheath dress and a simple shirt-and-skirt ensemble in monotonous yet feminine combo of classic black and white ― these are just some of the delectable offerings presented by Elbaz to his fans. Feeling bold and tired of the traditional trench? Just grab the colourful python trench for a change!

And if you are looking for something to wear for the umpteenth
wedding vow exchange ceremony – or something un-Vera Wang for the first timers - perhaps the ceremonious ruffly three-tiered white gown with gathered bodice will entice you to walk on the aisle in it.

Just a tulle veil, fresh flowers or something fancy but bridal-worthy head confection by Phillip Treacy and you’re good to say ‘I do’.

Accessory-wise, the bags are certainly delicious and the antiquated ancient Egypt-inspired scarab brooch is truly breathtaking. However, the big round necklace with a big numbers in the middle of the circular pendant can look too ostentatious to some.

Lanvin Resort 2014 collection will be available in Lanvin stores, mixed brand boutiques and selected department stores from November onwards.
