Big Apple Fetes Fashionistas at New York Fashion Week 2013

New York City takes the centre stage again as fashionistas from all over the world jetted into the Big Apple in style for the Fall/Winter 2013 collection presentation at the recent New York Fashion Week 2013.

Karlie Kloss
Attended by almost 100,000 guests ranging from fashion buyers to the global fashion press members, this year’s event features a mixture of both established and leading American runway champions such as Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg and Tommy Hilfiger; international names that have been making NYFW their permanent platform to exhibit their collections such as Lacoste, and also a bevy of new and emerging designers from all corners of the globe, namely ICB by Prabal Gurung, Monika Chiang, Ruffian, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela and Brandon Sun.

J Alexander
"The start of the new year brings exciting change and positive momentum to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with a line-up of amazing designer talent showing this coming February," says Stephanie Zimmer, Manager of Brand Experience Marketing at Mercedes-Benz USA. "We are as excited as ever to see what unfolds on the runways at Lincoln Center, as we roll out an entirely new Mercedes-Benz vehicle to the luxury segment."

Glenda Bailey
Apart from celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens and Brooke Shields, other fabulous faces that were spotted at the event also include model Karlie Kloss, Miss J Alexander of the America’s Next Top Model fame and US Harper’s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Glenda Bailey.

For the upcoming Fall/Winter season, bold prints are set to be the season’s mainstay, followed by luxurious play of earthy and warm colours. Also, look forward to hints of Asian touches such as plush drape silhouette married with oriental-inspired floral motif by Carolina Herrera, as well as humorously stylised QR code paired with manga caricature drawing by Vivienne Tam.
