Psst ... It's Charlotte Olympia (Live) In Singapore!

Singapore fashionistas were on cloud nine last March when renowned British shoe designer and the queen of sexy platforms Charlotte Olympia visited the ever stylish Lion City!

A major favourite among stylish trendsetters such as Beyoncé Knowles, Sarah Jessica Parker, Alexa Chung and Sienna Miller — just to list a few — Olympia, who is also it girl and Chanel’s current face Alice Dellal’s sister, came to Singapore not only to showcase her Spring/Summer 2012 collection but also to meet her loyal coveters.

To celebrate her first trip to Singapore, On Pedder has hosted an exclusive cocktail event at its new Scotts Square boutique.

For this occasion, the new boutique was filled with elements of old Hollywood glamour such as an exquisite bed of well-arranged hydrangeas and faux cobweb — Olympia’s trademark — to complement her latest collection, which all sat prettily on the display, above the hydrangea bed, just like a batch of sugary sweet, I-wish-they-were-edible confections.

A gist on Olympia’s spring/summer 2012 collection: Known as Sirens, Olympia took her inspirations from the ever vibrant and pulsating soul of Miami circa 1950s. 

Think of the eclectic mishmash of pink flamingo feathers with the pastel shades of its renowned Art Deco movement. 

Olympia, who is literally know the world over for her exceptional bygone-era inspired sense of style, spotted beautifully bleached tresses with a black top and a quirky belted watermelon skirt. 

The part British-part Brazilian beauty then dazzled her fans by slipping into a mesmerizing fully sequined cocktail piece during the cocktail party. No doubt she was indeed, the inevitable belle — or screen siren — of the evening.   

Intimate tête-à-têtes with the creator aside, fashionistas also took their chance to take a closer look on her storied collection of shoes and bags of the season. 

Also, exclusive to On Pedder, Olympia herself had chosen four worldwide exclusive variations of her bestseller “The Dolly” platform to be retailed at the stores. 

The platform is then revisited in four different yet exciting permutations, such as trendy leopard print (right, SG$1280.00 a pair) , black suede adorned with Swarovski crystals platform, nude suede and hot pink metallic leather.
