Boot Camp Meets Safari Chic ... Emilio Pucci Resort 2013 Collection
I wonder what song played in the mind of
Peter Dundas when he conceived Emilio Pucci’s Resort 2013 collection? My
initial guess … Run The World (Girls) by Beyoncé from her latest album “4”.

Reason being the song and its vibrant beats
resonate well with the stirring mishmash of strong nuances — safari and military
— and the working palette used by Dundas
in this soon-to-hit-the-store-shelves collection.
It certainly spells nonchalant robustness and also a new lease of fresh and novel perspective on resort collections.

On the other hand, the collection also has ran
away from the archetypal Emilio Pucci’s style which is often laden with billowy
printed caftans doused in the house’s storied prints.
Say if the chic set are about to be drafted into the boot camps for whatever reasons, I won’t even be surprised if I see them running the loops or climbing the rope in one of Dundas’ creations for Emilio Pucci Resort 2013.
Ah, who can’t ever forget that Spice World scene when Victoria Beckham did her army styled boot camp stint in a camo-print tube dress? Epic!

Power and sensuality collide in the forms
of army green long dress with mermaid skirt, accentuated with lacy detailing
and sheer insert; sheer golden-esque cover-up worn with military belt; an army
green caftan embroidered with the commanding image of a dragon in lavish gold
thread; and a simple grey bodysuit worn with army green pea coat.
For ladies who sit on the top of the corporate ladder, induce a sense of respect and sturdiness among your subordinates with the opening piece: Safari-inspired army green shirtdress with grosgrain military belt.

But if you’re up to a power game where your
strategy includes clever mind play and a dash of sexuality, then opt for the army
green belted dress with gathered peplum detailing and sheer upper half bodice.
Emilio Pucci Resort 2013 collection will be
available at all Emilio Pucci boutiques and selected mixed brand stores by the
third quarter of the year.
