Fashion Heaven Rants Exclusive: Hollywood's Latest Beauty Obsession Unveiled!

Angelina Jolie
New years come and go, yet I am pretty sure that many beauty connoisseurs out there (yours truly included, but not as obsessive as some) are yet to reach that one common resolution — having a well-contoured and absolutely wrinkle-free visage, like the ones spotted by Angelina Jolie et al.

Like it or not, I have to admit that this resolution has been stuck and yet to see the reality daylight since God knows when.

Though your friends, especially the cosmetic surgery fanatics would be more than glad to drag you to her (or, ermm, his) favourite cosmetic surgeon, the problem is, not everyone fancies the ‘miracle’ of a surgeon’s knife. Besides, there are people who take more time to heal from surgery and that is certainly a turn-off factor.

However ladies and some gentlemen, I am happy to say that soon, being ‘beautifully’ on par with Brad Pitt’s current leading lady, or perhaps, more beautiful than her, will be as easy as one, two, three. Thanks to Rodial’s latest groundbreaking invention — Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel.

The miracle worker
Inspired by the popular Restylane filler injection, Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel is an innovative anti-ageing formula that helps to define facial contours and add volume to the sagging skin.

The gel works by forming a unique second skin-like film around the face which effectively protects, reduces redness and firms for a smoother, plumper and more youthful looking complexion!

What’s more, thanks to its effectiveness, beauty connoisseurs have been snapping jars of this wonderful gel from Rodial counters at a shocking rate, with 10,000 more being on the waiting list, waiting patiently to experience this breakthrough beauty phenomenon.

That’s not all, word has it that Lady Gaga also used Dragon’s Blood as part of her beauty regime prior to her appearance at the recent Golden Globe Awards!

To know more about its amazing prowess, let's hear it from the founder of Rodial herself, Ms Maria Hatzistefanis, who recently shared with me the unparalleled goodness of Dragon’s Blood via exclusive email interview.

Where does the idea of creating Dragon’s Blood come from?
The idea for the product was inspired by popular celebrity injectible filler restylane. I wanted to create a product that would have the same firming, sculpting and plumping effects of this procedure, minus the surgery.

Sangre-de-Drago tree
Why it is called the Dragon’s Blood?
Dragon’s Blood is derived from the red coloured sap of the sangre-de–drago tree in the Amazon rainforest which the natives call ‘dragon’s blood’ and this is where the name comes from.

What is the key ingredient of the Dragon’s Blood?
They key ingredient is the sap from the sangre-de-drago tree which forms a film-like skin around the face to protect and reduce redness. It also contains a high potency ingredient called collageneer that helps plump up the collagen of the skin to achieve XXL volume.

How long does it take to create this firming and sculpting potion?
It took months of sourcing the ingredients to get the best and most effective combination of actives and I’m very happy with the results!

Ms Maria Hatzistefanis, founder of Rodial
Like Glamoxy Snake Serum, which formulation was emulated from the snake
venom, does the Dragon’s Blood is made in the similar way?
The similarity with these products is that they are both alternatives to injectables. Other than that, it’s hugely different to our Glamoxy Snake Serum range as Dragon’s Blood focuses on plumping and protecting skin (alternative to Restylane injections) while the snake serum range is an instant ‘botox in a bottle’ fix which decreases the appearance of lines and wrinkles

How does the Dragon’s Blood works?
It volumises and plumps the skin while protecting against external aggressors.

Define the target user of the Dragon’s Blood
The target user is someone who is concerned about ageing and wants to instantly firm, tone and add volume to sagging skin. I would recommend using this from early 30’s onwards.

Is Dragon’s Blood suitable for all skin types?
Yes, Dragon’s Blood is suitable for all skin types

How long does it take for users to see the result?
After using the product, the skin is instantly more volumised and this is optimised with continued use.

Will there be any side effect during the first few times of usage?
No, this is perfectly safe to use and you should experience no side effects

Lady Gaga
So far, how many celebrities have been using the Dragon’s Blood and swear by its potency in combating aging?
Lady Gaga and Emma Watson have used this product.

When is the best time to use the Dragon’s Blood and what are the best Rodial products to be used with?
It’s best to use Dragon’s Blood twice daily in the morning and the evening. My top tip is to apply with skin bleach mask for a brighter, more voulmised complexion!
