Effortless Femme on the Go ... Chloé Resort 2011

I’ve literally lost my count on how long Hannah McGibbons has been ruling the maison's creative direction from her Creative Director throne of the ever-youthful Chloé. Yet, her stint at Chloé so far has been showered with good and positive reviews by fashion editors and journalists everywhere.

Moreover, while she’s yet to reach her fourth or fifth year with the house, her design marks – smooth shapes, easy tailoring and high waist shorts – are by now recognisable from ten miles away.

For the Cruise/Resort 2011 collection, McGibbons captivates the attention of her fans with a selection of feminine confections. Rather than rolling both laidback approach and elegant nuances into one, she imbues the collection with a balanced mix of sensuality, erudition and the urge to be fashion forward without trying too hard. And if Chloé was ever a real girl, without a doubt the collection is an equivalent to the story of her life and her desires.

Partially dominated by shining fabrics, the pieces are rather effortless and meant to be worn every day. The knitted cardigan and top seem soft and modern, while pairing a gossamer tie-front blouse with a pair of skinny leather pants lends a new kind of edginess and subsequently, cementing a new relationship between classic pieces and contemporary styling.

But I can’t easily turn my sight away from the chic cuff-free bell-sleeved top with keyhole and leather skirt in devilish red. It’ll definitely make all heads turn, seriously.

Chloé Resort 2011 ready-to-wear collection and accessories are available at all Chloé boutiques and selected multi-brand boutiques and fine department stores worldwide.
