It's Official! Lanvin X H&M This November

They say good things are meant for those who wait and pray hard. Well, if you had prayed that one day Alber Elbaz would one day follow the path of big time designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo and Stella McCartney to design a capsule fashion collection for renowned Swedish high street fashion purveyor H&M, well darlings, I’m happy to tell you that your prayers have been answered!

Come November, Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver on behalf of Paris's esteemed maison du mode Lanvin and H&M will join forces to create an exclusive ready-to-wear collection for fall/winter 2010. Comprising of men and womenswear, the unique clothing collection will feature Elbaz’s trademark ‘couture-istic’ touches that are well-loved by his fans all over the world such as the feminine and fluid drapes that accentuate a woman’s womanly curves, luxurious embellishments and avant-garde chunky accessories. Don’t forget the omnipresent ribbons, bows and pearls too.

“H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public,” says Elbaz on the premier collaboration. “This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”

Echoing Elbaz’s positive sentiment is the Creative Advisor of the Swedish high street style purveyor, Margareta van den Bosch, who is thrilled by the wonderful collaboration.

"Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful. It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men. The launch in November is going to be full of wonderful surprises,” she commented.

Although the collections will be available for sale starting November 23rd, Elbaz fans and H&M connoisseurs can look forward to its preview on 2nd November 2010, hence making it a fashion event that is highly anticipated by the fashion world for this year. Now, since I had broke the news about H&M’s decision to postpone its triumphant arrival here, fret not because you still can grab those must have exclusive pieces at H&M stores in Hong Kong, China, Japan and even in South Korea. That said; now quickly book your flight and hotel before it’s too late!
