Daslu Celebrates the Arrival of Verão 2011

The season of the sun is back in São Paulo. While fashionistas around the world are busy stocking in the fall/winter essentials such as faux fur coats and full-skirted dresses ala 50s, the Birkin-toting and Chanel-clad Brazilian socialites recently converged at the palatial Daslu for its summer 2010/11 runway presentation.

Long known for its enviable melange of international luxury designer goods and in-house collections that are widely coveted by fashion devotees all over, Daslu continues keeping its cash registers ringing by enthralling its deep-pocketed customers with a selection of must haves for the season. Held in August, the show was kick-started with a brief presentation of Daslu kids and youth collection, followed by special live performance by a well-known Brazilian singer.

Light and easy pieces with ultra-feminine yet laidback approach took the runway by storm, with neutral shades of whites and beiges dominated the first batch of the collection. Following suit were tiered long dresses in red, yellow and grey; super luxurious long dress with corseted and belted bodice plus heavy rosette embellishments on the skirt; a number of cocktail dresses with bead-embellished bodices and petal skirt; printed sundress with voluminous knee-length skirt; flared bottom jeans worn with tie-front printed top and maxi dress, both adorned with the sacred image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

On men’s department, the looks ranged from casual – blue denim shirt worn over plain tee and straight cut jeans – to semi-formal. Leopard print, which is the current fall/winter de rigueur, was also present at Daslu runway in forms of bikini set and dresses.

A hint of military chic such as tops and dresses in camouflage green (sans the print) and studded belts, all as seen at Balmain were presented along with a couple of leather outerwears and chic trenches towards the end of the show.

The summer 2010/11 ready-to-wear collection and accessories will be available soon in Daslu stores at Avenida Chedid Jafet and Cidade Jardim.
