Cartier debuts Clash de Cartier Collection
Long-known for its cult and classic jewellery designs, Cartier, the renowned jeweller of the kings, is upping the ante of its game with a new line that will appeal to a new wave of Cartier admirers.
Aptly known as Clash de Cartier, the collection fuses together a variety of materials and design elements.
As its unique name suggests, Clash de Cartier is meant to complement a woman’s distinctive spirit rather than her personal style. In a way, a Clash woman can be defined as elegant and nuanced or rebellious and non-conformist. Sometimes, it may meant for both.
Juxtaposing the finesse of its century-old jewellery-making savoir faire with a hint of eccentricity, Clash purveys a jolt of innate boldness to the wearer.
Geometrical design elements such as spheres, studs and spikes are liberally used on the pieces – signifying a new shift of paradigm in the maison’s hallmarked design direction.
These shapes are further accentuated with either diamonds or corals to amplify the collection’s eccentric flavour.
Injecting more feminine appeal into the range, the sharp and hard geometrical points and edges are softened, entailing that they may look tough yet they are soft to touch.
Furthermore, every piece comes in generous size and can be matched with every outfit – regardless of occasions, day or night.
To personify the unique collection, emerging actress Kaya Scodelario has been chosen by the maison as the face of its advertising campaign.
Kaya, who is set to appear in highly anticipated film Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile — a movie based on the case of American serial murderer Ted Bundy — embodies the spirit of Clash as she was born from the union of two distinctive cultures – Brazilian and British.
“Kaya cultivates two facets of the same energy in a stylish balancing act, a creative duel between serious and quirky,” says Arnaud Carrez, International Marketing and Communications Director at Cartier International. “Like the Clash de Cartier collection, the actress combines the aristocratic codes with a touch of irreverence and elegance.”
Apart from the print advertisements that is set to break in selected magazines and periodicals across the world, Kaya also will appear in two commercials directed by Gordon von Steiner, a filmmaker known for his modern approach to fashion films.
The commercial has been featured across all Cartier digital platforms and cinema screens worldwide.
