Prada Opens Pop-Up Store at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Once upon a time, nylon was one of those synthetic fabrics that received very little attention within the high fashion world.

Its usage back then was limited to items such as socks, parachutes, tents, ropes and military gears to list a few.

But its fate somehow changed when Miuccia Prada of Italy’s venerated fashion house Prada introduced its range of Tessuto Vela nylon backpacks and totes in 1979. Towards the late 80s, Prada’s nylon tote suddenly catapulted to global fame: fashionistas clamoured for it and fashion publications lauded it due to its practicality, sturdiness and sleek craftsmanship that soon become the hallmark of the house.

In a way, it can be said that Prada nylon bags have successfully made their presence felt in the fashion sphere, hence joining the ranks of other notable "It" bags such as Birkin by Hermès and Lady Dior by Christian Dior.

Albeit new season  comes with new bags, year after year, the iconic Tessuto Vela nylon – an ultra-thin nylon fabric – has never lost its distinct charm. In fact, it has been one of the most sought after products in Prada stores!

This November, fans of the iconic Prada carriers can make their way to the Prada pop-up store at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and stock on their favourite nylon goodies. Spread on a surface area of 36 square metres, the pop-up store brings forth a special selection of women and men bags, backpacks and accessories collection.

Teaming modern materials such as natural aluminium used for display units with black and white chequered carpeting – Prada’s brand signature element – the store’s décor and atmosphere will be spiced up with life-size trick robots that will welcome customers at the centre of the original layout.

Prada pop-up store is open now and ends on 26 November, 2017. So if you’re already on Christmas gift shopping spree, don’t forget to stop by at the pop-up store!
