Montblanc Digitalises Fine Writing with Augmented Paper
To the younger generation, time does not wait and to handwrite a letter on a piece of fine paper may consume more minutes, compared with shooting an email via smartphone or tablet to the desired receiver that is less time-consuming.
As a renowned purveyor of fine writing instruments, and in
line with the rapid advancement of today’s technology, Montblanc is taking a
great initiative by propelling the art of fine writing to a greater height. This
is by juxtaposing the natural enjoyment of handwriting with the efficiency of
digitising work via its latest innovation, Montblanc Augmented Paper. With just
a simple press of a button, written notes and sketches can be seamlessly transferred
from paper to any mobile device. What’s more, the content can also be edited,
shared with others and even translated into digital text.
Like a bridge between the online and the offline worlds,
Montblanc Augmented Paper gives its owners the freedom to unleash their
creativity by using a writing instrument and paper, rather than being
restricted to mouse and keyboards as means to express their ideas in words.
Packed with the ability to store up to 100 pages in its internal storage and
battery life of up to eight hours of continuous use, lasting up to a week of
regular use, this innovative device is certainly an ideal travelling companion.
Furthermore, its small form makes it easy for you to work in more constrained
places such as the plane or inside a train. Best of all, the needs for a stack
of notebooks can be easily eliminated as thousands of notes, sketches and
reminders can be tagged and searched for when using the Montblanc Hub app!
An application developed with note-taking function, the
Montblanc Hub can be used independently from the Augmented Paper and digitally
integrates the writing feeling of a Montblanc pen. When the Augmented Paper is
connected, the Hub can be used to transfer and edit notes. On the other hand,
one also can create digital notes using the device when it is disconnected.
With the new Live Mode, one can easily
visualise in the app what is being written or sketched on the Augmented Paper,
simultaneously while sketching or writing. This feature is particularly useful
when the device is connected to either a smartphone or a tablet or to a beamer
where live sketching in front of an audience is possible via a large screen.
The Ink Color feature on the other hand, makes it possible for you to digitise
text or sketches in different hues, regardless of the colour used on paper.
Mobility and user-friendliness aside, Montblanc Augmented
Paper too is equipped with best-in-class handwriting recognition in 12
languages including English, German, Spanish, Italian and Chinese. Moreover,
this unique feature allows notes written by hand to be seamlessly transferred to
a mobile device and translated into digital text for searching, editing and
sharing.
Enveloped in a luxurious
leather envelope swathed in a multitude of eye popping colours and different
textures, Montblanc Augmented Paper comes with an electronic digitiser, a
StarWalker writing instrument, a notebook with lined paper, a USB cable to
change the device, 3 ballpoint refills and tweezers to exchange the refills.
Montblanc Augmented Paper Sartorial Core and Sartorial
Capsule Collection are available now at all Montblanc stores worldwide as well
as online.
