A Spring of Stickers ... Anya Hindmarch SS15 Media Preview and Luncheon

Extremely fun is the keyword for the season and the luxury fashion sphere is buzzing with excitement and joy.

While the usual features such as riotous colours, eclectic prints, graphic silhouettes and airy fabrics dominate runways and the stores’ window displays, another must-include in your spring/summer wardrobe is the inevitable statement accessories with roaring messages by Anya Hindmarch.

Known for its exceptional collection of handbags and clutches as well as the iconic Bespoke and Be a Bag collections that catapulted the British fashion label to global stardom, Anya brings forth a sense of playfulness back into the luxury world that has somehow become saturated with streamlined seriousness. In a way, Anya, through her new collection, is certainly delivering one strong message to all of her fans: You are never too old to be fun and never too young for luxuries.

Recently, at a media preview thrown by Anya Hindmarch Malaysia, the Malaysian fashion editors and journalists gathered at its newly opened store in Pavilion for a first glimpse on the sensational collection.

Doused in an inspiring working palette of delightful yet elegant colours, Anya Hindmarch spring/summer 2015 accessories collection juxtaposes classic yet streamlined nuances with a rebellious yet funky touches of the adolescent world.

The highlight collection, known as the Stickered Up collection, drew its inspiration from the stickers that were the designer’s schoolgirl version of personalisation.

Living up to its reputation, the collection stole the attention of every guest that came to the viewing, largely thanks to the appealing bold stickers that may took many man hours to create by skilled artisans within its Italian workshop.

Apart from being the talk of the town, I was told that the Stickered Up collection has been snapped by fashionistas at a speedy pace post-arrival and the brand is currently awaiting for its new shipment!

Besides the Stickered Up collection, the stickers are also omnipresent on other accessories such as the Georgiana clutch with large leather tassel, large and maxi featherweight Ebury bags, maxi zip cross-body bag, Albion top-handle bag, small and normal-sized Bathurst satchels and even the classic yet rustic basket bag.

Punched out icons of smileys are also present on classic Anya Hindmarch silhouettes such as the Ebury in plus python skin and tumbled python calf.

As for evening, give your personal look a dash of animation with Valorie clutch featuring embossed lightning graphic or the Imperial Clutch with a pair of caricature eyes.

Also available this season is the classic Crisp Packet clutches in metallic finishing with cheerful colours such as pink, orange, neon yellow and blue.

For those who wanted to spruce and spice up their bags or any personal accessory such as iPhone covers or laptop covers, you are able to do so by purchasing it via Anya Hindmarch’s Sticker Shop.

A fun collaboration between the British designer and renowned illustrator Charlotte Stockdale for Chaos Fashion, Sticker Shop features an array of luxurious embossed leather stickers with irreverent yet cool statements, road signs and funky graphics.

Post spring/summer 2015 preview, guests were taken to Prego Restaurant at The Westin Kuala Lumpur for a sumptuous four-course Italian lunch.

Starting with a welcome speech by Ms Soo Shea Pin, the owner of Anya Hindmarch Malaysia who looked dazzling in a classic black dress with sheer long sleeves, guests watched the spring/summer 2015 runway show that was held during London Fashion Week last year.

Amidst fashionable chats and laughter, guests dined on hearty Italian meals such as pizza for starter; a bowl of Caesar’s salad; a choice of Spaghetti bolognaise or spicy roasted spring chicken.

A lush meal richly laden with authentic Italian flavours, the foods were perfectly prepared by a team of skilled chefs, just like how the Anya Hindmarch hallmarked accessories are meticulously made.

The Pizza Carnivora truly lived up to its name - a lavish pizza brimming with grilled pieces of chicken meat and lush tomato sauce. Even the perfectly cooked spring chicken that was served with delicious grilled vegetables received rave reviews from the journalists and editors.

The lunch ends with Tiramisu that is beautifully adorned with an edible smiley image, inspired by one of the Anya Hindmarch’s Sticker Shop characters.

Thus, million thanks to Ms Soo Shea Pin and the Anya Hindmarch Malaysia team for their hospitality. The Anya Hindmarch SS15 collection is available now at Anya Hindmarch stores.
