Kuala Lumpur Welcomed Tory Burch's First Store

After months of anticipation, fans of American fashion designer Tory Burch welcomed the arrival of her first flagship boutique in Kuala Lumpur in September. 

Known for her Park Avenue princess-inspired designs interwoven with Bohemian nuances, Burch is not a stranger to the Kuala Lumpur fashion scene, even before brand made its official entrance into Malaysia. 

Furthermore, the opening of her first store in Kuala Lumpur has elevated the city’s current stance as the preferred luxury shopping destination within the Southeast Asian region to one notch higher. 

Spread across 2,800 square feet within the lap of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s inevitable luxury, the Tory Burch flagship store sports distinguished orange-lacquered façade with its interior being custom-designed to impart a homely atmosphere, as if you were walking into and across the New York-based designer’s home.

The store is divided into three separate rooms, each boasting distinctive interior decoration and laden with lavish furnishing. And being a flagship store, one will find an array of Tory Burch goods waiting to be taken home such as the ready-to-wear pieces (currently in store are fall/winter 2014-15 and Resort 2015), handbags, small leather goods and shoes.

To commemorate its stylish arrival in Kuala Lumpur, a limited number of exclusive jewellery were designed and sold exclusively to the store. 

These luxurious pieces are meticulously crafted using brass, beads and pearls. Only eight designs are available with two pieces are made for each, making the collection a highly sought after by any Tory Burch fan in the region.

 
Limited edition jewellery aside, a swanky cocktail party too was held in conjunction with the official opening of the store. A glamour-filled soiree, the party saw the attendance of Malaysia’s tastemakers, trendsetters and media members. 

Malaysian celebrities such as actress Scha Al Yahya, singer Syafinaz Selamat and Miss Malaysia 2013 Carey Ng were spotted in Tory Burch creations. 

Amidst the lush, free-flowing canapés and drinks, guests walked into the store to discover for themselves the beautiful array of Tory Burch products.

While DJ Tunku Nadia took the deck and purveyed the party with cool music to heat up the party mood, the highlight of the evening was the ribbon-cutting ceremony presided by the representatives of Tory Burch New York, Valiram Group and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, followed by the fall/winter 2014-15 collection fashion show. 

Classic peasantry looks loom large in the collection with a mix of geometrical and floral patterns; relaxed silhouettes drawn from the storied Russian peasants who are known for their Bohemian approach in style.
