A New Cartier Flagship For Hong Kong and Asia
Shopping for high jewellery in Hong Kong will be an exciting affair to remember as Cartier, the Jeweller of the Kings, launched its Asian flagship store at the Prince’s Building.
Ensconced in a corner of the building, the new store, which is just a few metres away from its old home, features a soaring 17-metre exterior façade that looks like a grand sugar cube, suffused with glamour – a character that is synonymous with Hong Kong’s long-held status as the region’s main fashion hub.
On the graduated glass and woven gold surface of the luxurious façade, the interlaced Cartier double “C” create an urban jewel of effervescent champagne-coloured light, a spangling yet contemporary homage to the brand’s timeless style and the esteem with which it has long been held in Hong Kong and the region.
Inside, the flagship store spans over 900 metres of retail space with a fluid layout of intersected salons over three floors. A selection of fine jewels, special orders timepieces, accessories, bridal collections and jewelleries are all showcased within the oak-clad and bronze-toned interiors. In the exclusive private room, special orders are handled in poise and it is here that the most brilliant pieces of fine jewellery are presented.
Apart from that, Cartier also commemorates the historic event with a special gift to its fans: the first preview of the new and soon-to-launched Panther de Cartier collection.
The new range, which will be launched next year, includes remarkable pieces such as Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch with champlevé enamel panther motif on 18-carat white gold face; Panthère de Cartier pendant in white gold with lacquer spots and garnet tsavorite eyes; and Panthère de Cartier bracelet in white gold, lacquer spots and garnet tsavorite eyes.
Last November, Cartier held a spectacular event to herald the grand opening of the new Asian flagship. Certainly an event to remember and should not be missed, a bevy of international and regional stars, jetsetters, important figures and avid Cartier fans gathered in Hong Kong to witness the store’s inauguration.
Spotted at the event were Chinese actress Fan Binbing, actor Tony Leung, and Hong Kong socialite Cathy Lee, all sporting dazzling Cartier jewels at the soiree. UK’s singing sensation VV Brown made her appearance on the red carpet, sporting her trademark hairdo.
Star watching aside, a gala dinner was also thrown in conjunction with the opening, where apart from being treated to a lavish showcase of Cartier fine jewellery, guests were also entertained by a special performance by Cartier’s iconic bellmen.
Wait, here’s good news for Malaysian Cartier fans – Cartier will be opening a two-storey flagship store in Kuala Lumpur at the new wing of Suria KLCC in April next year.
