Redux is back again ... Anya Hindmarch AW2010-11
Fashion world’s fascination with the past continues this season with Anya Hindmarch’s fall/winter 2010-11 collection. Presented to the media members at its Parkson Pavilion store, renowned British bag maker and designer Anya Hindmarch drew her inspirations from various redux elements such as the Art Deco movement and the Hollywood glamour circa 1930s.
Opulent and irresistible, Hindmarch uses a plethora of materials such as leathers (both grainy and patent), python, cashmere, lame and silk, alongside degraded crystals to evoke the spirit of unparalleled luxe. As for the working palette, the key colours of the fall season namely burgundy, mushroom, deep blue, violet and brilliant red are chosen by Hindmarch to douse her enviable collection of bags and accessories. If you are looking for initial style investment pieces, you can start off with its legendary Carker bag.
Long regarded as the brand’s piece de resistance, the autumn/winter 2010 take on the Carker is imbued with insouciance, thanks to the different range of shapes and sizes, as well as the array of colours and fabrics used. Timeless elegance prevails in the Carker tote and shoulder bags as these incarnations are soft, slouchy and abundant with space. If you hate to carry your bag around, then opt for the hands-free version of Carker, which is available in a variety of shades including red high shine leather or black battered leather.
As the sun falls down – a signal for you to start painting the town red – don’t ever leave your pad without one of these – Otha, Josie and Valorie. Richly drenched in beads, they would instantly remind you of your party days at the Studio 54. What’s more, these classic evening pieces will surely add pizzazz to your vintage Halston jumpsuits or dresses, thus allowing you to outshine even the most demanding fashion diva on earth.
Also available at Anya Hindmarch stores to complete your fall/winter wardrobe is a subtle ready-to-wear collection made of slim-lined cashmere sweaters, cardigans with Art Deco styled ribbed plackets and square buttons, rabbit fur gilet and trench coats just to list a few. Oh, don’t forget about the shoes as well because this fall/winter, Wade and Bella – sky high platform sandals and ballerina flats - are set to give your feet a much deserved diva treatment.
On a separate note, Anya Hindmarch also has created new designs to the traditional Barbour jackets and they are Foxy coat in wax cotton, Foxy jacket in several hues, as well as the Minx. Err, what about Wino’s beehive hairdo? Nah, I’ll put that as optional.
